I have always been fascinated by children and the innocuous ways in which they bring positivity, love, goodness and learning to our lives. In them I see hope and I wish they foresee the same for their future. It is easy for us to acknowledge that the foundation of one bright’s future is good education, regardless of the discipline of study. In that respect, I belong to the privileged lot, although a staggering % of India’s children do not.
At Asha Purdue* (a chapter of the larger organization Asha for Education), we are a group of undergraduate and graduate students committed to giving back to the society. We align our efforts towards “making a difference in the lives of underprivileged children of India, is also preparing a group of people who are more socially aware and socially responsible in their lives”. Our projects are spread across 7 states in India, one of them also being in Guwahati from where I hail.
