I’m a second year PhD student in Mechanical Engineering that got involved with Asha Purdue in Fall of 2019. After volunteering at a couple Football games, I partook in their weekly meetings to understand what it is they do. Simply put – they make lives better by providing educational opportunities to financially insecure households. This is primarily done by supporting projects all over India and giving them the necessary operating funds to pay teachers salaries, provides books, utilities cost, etc…

Now, more than ever, we need to find in ourselves to donate. Due to COVID-19, already educational services to poor households have been severely affected. Not only that, but the economic crisis spurred by the pandemic has also led to loss of income and food insecurity for many families. Just recently, Asha Purdue was able to approve an emergency fund for Diksha Khel Project in Patna so that they can provide food rations to families of children that had lost their income.

It is imperative that if you can, you donate. The target below I’m setting for myself is only a number – the goal is to not match the target, but to exceed it. Please don’t let the target restrict you in your donation. If you have any questions about how these funds will be used, you can go through our website and look at the numerous projects we support and how much we have contributed to those projects over the years or contact me directly and I would be happy to answer any questions you may have.
